Retired widows Connie and Sable Butterworth have set up a private investigating business. In this story, Connie's daughter, Debra, asks them to help one of her friends.

Loved this latest Butterworth mystery. Connie and Sable are at their best in this newest mystery. The ladies work hard to prove that the accused is not guilty even when all the evidence points to him. You won't be disappointed when you read this one.
A very cute murder mystery which is solved by 2 older women. Up until the end the guilty party could have been a number of people. A quick read with a splash of humor!!
Love the Butterworth mysteries! Connie and Sable are so much fun, and the way they work together to solve mysteries is great! It's so nice to see older people portrayed as thinking and capable individuals.
I always love Gillian's mystery's and this on with the Butterworth is no exception. Even though the story is longer you don't notice because there are different scenarios so you don't know who the murderer is, later you find out he deserved to die ( &should have been hung in a plaza as an example to uncarring, ♥ les bastards in ignoring their children in order to punish the wife) that's my opinion. I live that it has tears, joy, lots of anger from the butters' and of course restore your faith in justice prevailing.💖😄
I enjoyed the audiobook. It ran 2 hrs and 56 min, which is more like a novella than a full-length book.
The story involves a pending divorce and a crime that occurs during that process, with the two Butterworth sisters-in-law investigating. If you're familiar with the "Rosemary & Thyme" mystery series, this book series is similar. It features two retired, highly competent, English ladies with a knack for investigating, and the stories tend to have a gentility to them.
In addition to enjoying the mystery, I liked the narrator's accent and way of narrating. It's different, in a good way.
The duo of Connie and Sable are at it again. Connie's daughter got them into it.
Nerys and Dale were friends since they were kindergarten kids. Having finished school and college, they got married. They are the kind of couple people will point to illustrate how happy a marriage can be. So why would Nerys then file for divorce.
Connie and Sable just had to become involved.
When Dale is arrested for the murder of Mr. Ridgeway, the slippery divorce attorney engaged by Nerys, the investigation is taking a turn for the worse.
As usual, there quite a few candidates for the murder. The sober, logical approach of Connie and Sable is a pleasure to follow. Hats of to these two private detectives...they really know what they are doing.
It is such a pleasure reading these stories of Gillian Larkin and these of the Butterworth sisters are by far my favourites. Take a bow, Ms Larkin. This is again a sure winner!
